ICAS is committed to promoting the cultural activities of the city of Ivrea by supporting the area’s major cultural institutions, with special focus on youth training projects and theatre and music activities.
ICAS FOR THE LOCAL COMMUNITY
SCHOLARSHIP IN MEMORY OF BRUNO GETTO
In 2000, ICAS established a scholarship in memory of Bruno Getto for the purpose of awarding the most deserving students of Ivrea’s technical I.T.I.S. and I.P.S.I.A. schools (currently merged into the I.I.S. Camillo Olivetti Institute). A way for the company, and the family, to keep the memory of the founder Bruno Getto alive and stress the importance of training in the technical and applied technology field, from mechanics to electronics and computer science, subjects studied at the I.I.S Institute and most precious for the company.
YOUTH SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA OF PIEMONTE
ICAS S.p.A.’s commitment to supporting youth activities extends to the Youth Symphony Orchestra of Piemonte, founded in Ivrea in 1994 and currently one of the Piedmont region’s major orchestras, which has trained young musicians and conductors now at the head of Italy’s main music institutions.
GIACOSA THEATRE OF IVREA
ICAS S.p.A’s commitment to the local community includes active involvement in one of Ivrea’s main institutions, the Giacosa Theater, which was founded as the Civic Theater of the city of Ivrea in 1834 and dedicated, in 1922, to Giuseppe Giacosa, the great playwright and librettist for Giacomo Puccini. With a rich program of various expressive art forms by prestigious directors and actors, the Giacosa Theatre is one of the Piedmont region’s most active municipal theatres.
